                                                More about Glenn "Fritz" Snyder:
Glenn F. "Fritz" Snyder, 78, of 1158 Upper Nis Hollow Drive, Lehighton, died Friday
in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Janet E.
(Steigerwalt) Snyder. They observed their 53rd wedding anniversary last Feb. 7.

Prior to retiring, he was employed as a nosal setter/pourer in the basic oxygen furnace
department of the Bethlehem Steel Corporation for 40 years.

Born in Lehighton, he was a son of the late Raymond M. and Elsie V. (Doll) Snyder.

He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, Lehighton.

Snyder was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean Conflict, having attained the rank
of sergeant.  He was a Purple Heart Medal recipient.

The deceased belonged to the American Legion Post 314, its Korean Last Man's Club,
the AMVETS Post and F. & A.M. Lodge No. 621, all of Lehighton, and the Nis Hollow
Hunting Club.

He was an avid fan of Penn State football.

Surviving in addition to his widow are two daughters, JoAnn, wife of Dene Smith, and
Gail,  wife of Greg Heffelfinger, both of Lehighton; five sons, Daryl, and his wife, Rachelle,
Robert, and his wife, Lori, and Ted, and his companion, Sherry Craig, all of Lehighton,
Michael, and his wife, Bonnie, of Palmerton, and James, and his wife, Roxanne, of
Downingtown, Pa.; a brother, Hayden R., and his wife, Marva, of Palmerton; a sister
Janice, wife of Lester Cunfer of Mahoning Valley; 15 grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren,
seven  great-grandchildren, four stepgreat-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Raymond R.

The Andrew P. Ovsak Funeral Home, Fourth and Iron streets, Lehighton, is in charge
of the arrangements.
